Becky L. Snider grew up in Houston, Texas and began painting with her mother at a young age.  She received a BA from Mills College in Oakland, California where she double majored in Studio Art and Dramatic Art. She followed her undergraduate degree with an MFA in Theatre Technology from the University of Texas at Austin. After working as a technical director for Houston Grand Opera, Portland Opera and Stephens College, Becky made a career change.  She studied Environmental Design and Historic Preservation and received a PhD from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Becky operated her own historic preservation consulting firm for more than ten years while also renovating and building houses.  After moving to Maryland in 2009, Becky continued her renovation work and began taking classes in glass fusing.  She lives with her wife, Karen Cone, and their two dogs and one cat in Silver Spring, MD.
